Jim Arrowood
Assistant Chief

Jim Arrowood is Assistant Chief, Berryhill Fire Protection District.

Arrowood joined Berryhill Fire in 1996 as a volunteer firefighter while attending Berryhill High School. Arrowood rose through the ranks over the next two decades and was named Assistant Chief in 2011.  

Arrowood is a certified Firefighter I, Firefighter II, Hazmat Operations, Officer I, Officer II, Instructor I and Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). He is a 2015 graduate of the Oklahoma Executive Fire Officer Program.  He holds Master Firefighter and Executive Fire Officer credentials from the State of Oklahoma. He also is a Type III Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Operations Section Chief for Oklahoma and serves on the Oklahoma Incident Management Team.

While serving on the Oklahoma Incident Management Team, he has responded to numerous national emergencies including the Anderson Creek Wildfire and the Tulsa Flood of 2019. 

Arrowood is an instructor for Oklahoma State University Fire Service Training, Oklahoma State Department of Health, Oklahoma Department of Homeland Security, FEMA, Department of Homeland Security, American College of Surgeons and American Heart Association.

Arrowood is also the vice president, Cybersecurity and Physical Security, at ONEOK.  Arrowood earned a Bachelor of Computer Science degree from the University of Tulsa’s Institute for Information Security and currently serves on the university’s Computer Science Advisory Board.  He also serves on the Cybersecurity Advisory Board for Tulsa Technology Center.

A nationally recognized expert in peer-to-peer network security and file sharing, Arrowood has active security clearance, has multiple cybersecurity patents and has published U.S. congressional testimony. He holds federally recognized information security credentials including NSTISSI Information Systems Security Professional, Designated Approving Authority, Information Systems Security Administrator, System Certifier and Information Security Officer.
